art of Mt.Fuji

  Mt. Fuji has been used for pictures as a symbol of Japan from ancient times.It is a home country of the heart for a Japanese for many years, and became a stage of pictures, literature, or theater, and many works of art are produced until it continues up to now. I think there is no mountain drawn by the plentiful painter like Mt. Fuji.  There are especially many works in the field of ukiyoe. Ukiyoe is the most popular printed matter describing all the fashion things of Edo. I think that three famous person as an ukiyoe artist .It is Hokusai Katsushika, Hiroshige Utagawa, and Taikan Yokoyama. They told the beauty of Mt. Fuji, and grandeur to the whole country and the world by ukiyoe. Hokusai Katsushika is one of the painters who played an active part in Japan most as an ukiyoe artist in the late Edo period. Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji( Fugaku Sanjūrokkei) is shown in his masterpiece.Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji is the ukiyoe as which the activity of nature or people and fusion in the four seasons are expressed with Mt. Fuji. His work is not only drawing the landscape. Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji is expressed the power of the human being who fights to rolling Onami. And while drawn　people are dynamic, Mt. Fuji is overlooking people without moving. The stillness and the magnificence of Mt. Fuji were also able to be felt for such a point.
  The next is Hiroshige Utagawa.Hiroshige Utagawa is the painter who played an active part in the end-of-Edo-Period term, and he made famous place drawing elated. There is famous "Fuji 36 view" of Hiroshige who drew Mt. Fuji . This is a famous work like Hokusai Katsushika. I felt that while Hokusai focused on the person ,Hiroshige Utagawa is putting power into the landscape. "In for example, Kuwana", As opposed to Hiroshige who draws a global image and pictures the scenery of a trip delicately, Hokusai takes a close-up of to the woman who burns the shellfish which is a noted product of Kuwana. Thus, it is also charm that not only both feature but a situation of those days is more vividly transmitted by being described from a viewpoint which is different also at the same place. Finally it talks about Taikan Yokoyama. Since he was my local graduate person, I was looking at the work which he drew from before. Taikan Yokoyama who played the large role in development of a modern Japanese painting began to draw Mt. Fuji on the theme, and has left the work of about 1500 points to the whole life.
 The work which I like in his work is "Fuji reihou".It is a golden folding screen, and this work is drawn just like God in Mt. Fuji, and is a wonderful work. A peculiar atmosphere which is different in two persons is made, and I had the heart held by the grand point. Moreover, it was in use to have drawn a Japanese painting by the line of sumi those days. However, the trial which tried to take in the "feeling of air" like oil painting is also seen from each work. It is all.
